Problem
- The existing IT master plan included just a few of the more expensive projects. The actual variety of projects and activities was not represented, the true volume of work for various clients was not transparent
- Over the years, IT has almost been cut to the bone, internal IT resources have become very scarce. Creation of decentralized IT units with indifferent IT governance has increased the complexity
- IT was only responding in proportion to the pressure applied to it
Contribution of ResultONE
- Development of an integrated IT master plan with transparent representation of all activities, additional analysis of acceleration and threat potential
- Definition of necessary action plans, development and establishment of risk management, initiation of resource and portfolio management
- Identification and plausibility check of expansion of essential internal personnel resources
- Support for CIO in dealing with supervisory board and decision-makers
Outcome
- Transparent IT master plan is in place. Risks, opportunities and potential for acceleration are known, improvement measures have been implemented
- Decisions important to IT have been made, including to build up and train significant (human) resources
- Further sustainable improvement measures have been drawn up and some have already been introduced
